Book Review: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Hey, Y'all Here is my review of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. So without anymore, lollygagging let's get started!

From Goodreads:

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favours with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behaviour. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

My Critique:

So when you first begin reading Gone girl you meet our two main protagonists Amy and Nick two people who at first seem like the perfect couple. Until Amy goes missing on their 5th wedding anniversary.

The cops unlike in TV dramas and other wife-goes-missing cases, Don't automatically suspect Nick until he starts doing not so smart things like hmm smiling at the news camera when he is "begging for his wife to be found" or better yet found to be cheating on his wife.
I know he sounds awful right?
Hold on, Let's meet Amy... she is ticked off at Nick for cheating... hmm ok I'd be mad too but then instead of confronting him what does she do?
Frame him for murder... her murder to be precise.
Then a whole new can of worms is opened... but I'll let y'all find out by reading the book :0

I did enjoy Mrs, Flynn's writing style and the obvious research that she put into writing the books. her writing style flows very smoothly and I never had a problem with figuring out if a was reading from Nick's perspective or Amy's.
I enjoyed the mystery from a researchers standpoint as well as trying to see if Nick was guilty or not. I must admit before I started reading Amy's part I was certain Nick had done her in!

That being said I would love to hear your guy's thoughts if you've read this story! please tell me in the comments if you liked this book or not!

My Rating:

Until next time my friends
