Book Review: My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garrett's. All the time."

Plot Summary: Samantha Reed is the daughter of a politician that seems to live the perfect life, However, she takes nothing for granted. Even though money is of no object, Samantha works several jobs, studies hard and always follows the rules her mother has set forth. But still, Samantha has spent a lot of her time sitting outside her window watching the family next door, the Garrett's, with their many children live life in a way that her own mother has always deemed irresponsible. Still Samantha, yearns to get to know them and everything changes for her when Jase Garrett climbs her roof and the pair start falling deeply in love with one another. Samantha keeps Jase at arms length from everything and everyone in her life but she has no issue falling into Jase’s. And as most stories go, once everything seemed perfect, tragedy strikes and Samantha is torn between Jase’s family and her own.

Critique:

This book was everything I had hoped it would be: fluffy, romantic, sad, and cute
Samantha is a really likable Main leading girl. She always tries to do the right thing, plus she’s responsible, caring and trusting. When Samantha’s older sister leaves for the summer and her mother hires a new campaign manager / much younger boyfriend, she finally opens up to the incredibly handsome boy next door when he climbs up to "rescue her" about her life. Jase is such a sweetheart, talented and very family oriented. He tries to be a peacekeeper with his other siblings and is the perfect boyfriend for Samantha.  Sam also has two friends that are twins Nan, who is a nut about getting into the perfect college, and Tim, an addict who is basically a ticking time bomb to contend with. What I loved most about this book is the big family aspect and the great care about your friends vibe.
My favorite character is probably little George. I mean, how could you not love him? He is the cutest boy ever!! He is smart and sweet and so damn lovely; I wanted to kiss him, to hug him, to take him home and adopt him. He made me laugh so damn much and he deserves all the love and the fans he can get.
• a slow burn romance that started off as a friendship.
• all the secondary characters had personalities and lives and brains too, and no one felt like a cardboard cut out.
• IT HAD FUNNY MOMENTS
• Plenty of food
• I cried.. a lot like tissues upon tissues and when the book was over I may have sat in my chair and stared into space for a long time.

So all in all do I recommend? Heck yes! a million times yes! this is a perfect read if you want to feel all the fluff and if you need to have a good cry session!

Until next time my friends
